Sara Holden brings a lifetime of entrepreneurial experience, military leadership, and community-focused service to her role supporting small business owners across Moore and Hoke counties.
鈥淓ntrepreneurialism has always been a part of my family鈥檚 DNA,鈥 Holden said. 鈥淔rom candy and bead making to carpentry to popcorn to art and farming, I鈥檝e had my hands in all aspects of start-ups and successful companies. Bringing my skill set to others in the community is exciting and I look forward to jumping in and meeting folks in Hoke and Moore counties who can use the support and skill sets that our program offers.鈥
Holden brings a wide range of professional experience to the role, including management, leadership, communications, project management, organizational development, and goal setting. While her office is located on the Pinehurst campus, she plans to spend much of her time in the community meeting entrepreneurs where they are and working around their schedules.
Holden sees her role as a connector between the college and the region鈥檚 small business
community.
It鈥檚 an ever-evolving process from concept to execution and between. I hope to jump in where they need me and offer support toward continued success and momentum.
Future plans also include exploring additional agricultural opportunities to support
farmers, tourism, and potential lodging ventures throughout Moore and Hoke counties.
鈥淚 want to be an extension of what they are working on and see how our tools and services
can make an impact,鈥 Holden said.
Holden holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, and is an honorably discharged U.S. Air Force veteran who served at the rank of Staff Sergeant. She is married and the mother of three adult children.
