HSE Scholars
The HSE Scholars Program is a last-dollar scholarship program offered by 91影视. The program provides up to two years of tuition support for eligible students.
Scholarship Details
Award Coverage
For eligible students, HSE Scholars covers:
- Tuition (up to the in-state rate)
- Technology fee
- Activity fee
- CAPS fee
Coverage is available for up to two academic years.
Eligibility Period
Students have one year from HSE Graduation ceremony to enroll. Once enrolled, eligibility ends 6 consecutive semesters later.
Last-Dollar Provision
HSE Scholars is a last-dollar scholarship. All federal and state grants, institutional scholarships, and outside funding must be applied first. HSE Scholars funds are applied to any remaining eligible charges.
Additional Information
Books and course-specific fees are not covered.
Out-of-state students may receive tuition coverage up to the in-state rate. However, out-of-state students are not eligible for HSE Scholars during any semester in which other financial aid fully covers the in-state tuition rate.
Requirements
Eligibility
- Passed all GED庐 or HiSET庐 high school equivalency exams earning an HSE
- Completed 40+ hours of attendance in CCR program and completed a required post-test
- Was nominated for the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS) OR requests and receives a letter of recommendation from CCR staff and director approval
Enrollment
- Apply to Sandhills as a degree-seeking student and meet with a College Navigator.
- Submit your high school or high school equivalency transcript.
- Apply for the HSE Scholars Program by completing the online SCC scholarship application.
- Complete the using 2024 tax information.
Priority Deadlines
Fall 2026: July 27, 2026
Spring 2027: December 1, 2026
Summer 2027: May 4, 2027
The following requirements must be met by the deadline, to ensure your eligibility.
- A new SCC admissions application must be completed, submitted, and on record with the Student Onboarding office.
- Official high school transcript showing your graduation date must be submitted and on record with the SCC Registrar's office.
- Your SCC scholarship application must be completed, submitted, and on record with the SCC Scholarship Office.

Your 2026-27 FAFSA and all additional required financial aid paperwork must be completed, submitted, and on record with the SCC Financial Aid Office.
Don't wait until the week of the deadline to submit your FAFSA to SCC, you will not meet the deadline.
Once enrolled, students must continuously meet the financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress standards outlined by the state and federal government (maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and complete at least 67% of all courses attempted at Sandhills Community College.)
If you drop, are withdrawn from, or fail all your courses during a semester in which you receive HSE Scholars funding, you may be required to repay all or a portion of your HSE Scholars scholarship.
